MORE than eight out of 10 young Irish women believe couples should live together before getting married, according to a survey.
Sixty-one per cent of the women surveyed said they would not trust their partners with responsibility for contraception, although 54 per cent said their partners were willing to take responsibility.
The survey was carried out by MRC (Ireland) Ltd for Depo-Provera, the injectable contraceptive makers. Some 400 women aged between 18 and 30 were interviewed.
Asked for their view on the most attractive qualities in a man, 31 per cent of the respondents chose honesty, 14 per cent chose personality and 10 per cent opted for intelligence. Only 2 per cent thought physical attractiveness the most important quality.
