Local and regional radio stations increased their audience reach by one per cent to 56 per cent in the period from October 2004 and September 2005, figures released by the JNLR/TNSmrbi.

National radio stations retained their reach figures with RTE Radio One at 26 per cent, Today FM at 16 per cent and Lyric FM at 3 per cent. 2FM saw its audience reach drop one per cent to 21 per cent, compared with the period July 2004 to June 2005.

During the key 7am to 7pm period, Radio One said its market share drop by -0.7 per cent. 2FM saw its market share rise by 0.1 per cent to 11.1 per cent.

Today FM saw its share of the market fall by half of a percentage point to 14.7 per cent. Lyric FM saw its market share drop by -0.2 per cent to 1.6 per cent.

Looking at Dublin market, Radio One has held on to its 30 per cent share of the weekday audience reach and is followed by FM104 on 22 per cent. 98FM has retained its 17 per cent.

2FM has 15 per cent audience reach, which is unchanged from the previous 6 month period as is Q102, which is on 13 per cent.

Today FM has 10 per cent of the Dublin audience while Newstalk is up one per cent to 8. Lyric FM and Dublin's Country Mix have 6 and 4 per cent audience reach respectively.
