We gather to see the opening of a new portal. We converge on Lobo @ the Morrison Hotel to witness the birth of myhome.ie, a countrywide network of estate agents. The nightclub is jam-packed. It's the night before St Valentine's Day, but no one mentions flowers. Talk is about location, location, location.
They're here from all over. Michael Gilmartin, an auctioneer from Nenagh in Co Tipperary is here with his girlfriend, pharmacist Mairead Reen. Michael Liston, an auctioneer from Newcastle West in Co Limerick, who is here with his wife, Ann Liston, is pleased with the new website.
Pat Harrington, a teacher and an organic gardener, has come along with her daughter, Edel Harrington, because the new website will feature her column about organic gardening. This weekend, you green-fingered ones should be out "feeding the apple trees", says Harrington. Feed them fish blood and bone meal and "manure in as far as the trunk", she advises.
Patricia Casey, from Gunne Residential, says: "People want more now and they'll get it at this portal. If you access it, it'll tell you about the facilities, the current rates, it's like a one-stop show." "And it's backed up professional services from the branches," says Brian Nolan, also of Gunne. Alison O'Hara, another Gunne employee, nods. They could break into song.
