Metropolitan Police officers in London are investigating the death of an Irish woman in her 40s whose body was found last week.

The remains of Linda Ann Dolan (40) originally from Co Waterford was found at a house near Hermitage Road, Norwood, London, on January 16th.

According to police the death is being treated as murder. The post-mortem found she had died from asphyxiation caused by strangulation. Police believe the man who killed her subsequently took his own life.

The funeral of Ms Dolan will take place in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Knockanore, Co Waterford at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25th with burial afterwards in St Carthage's Cemetery, Lismore.
