A 29-year-old Longford man has been found guilty by a Central Criminal Court jury of raping, buggering and sexually assaulting his cousin over a number of years.
Mr Justice Liam McKechnie remanded the man - who cannot be named - in custody for sentence on January 22nd next.
The married man was found guilty on two counts of rape, one count of buggery, five of indecent assault and three of sexual assault on various dates between September 1987 and March 1995.
The jury returned its first verdict of guilty of indecent assault on day six of the trial, following two-and-a-half hours deliberations and was then sent to a hotel overnight.
It returned the final 10 verdicts by 11-1 majority today, having then deliberated in total for just under five-and-a-half hours.
Mr Justice McKechnie had directed the jury to return not guilty verdicts on a further 10 counts on the indictment which originally contained 21 charges of alleged rape, buggery and indecent assault on the complainant on various dates between September 1985 and March 1995.
The accused denied all the 21 charges he faced and gave evidence in his defence.
