As taxpayers reel from one of the toughest Budgets of recent times news that tonight’s Lotto jackpot is heading for €10 million might bring some light relief.
The jackpot has not been won since Saturday March 14 and has been “rolling over” since, making tonight’s prize the largest Lotto jackpot this year.
A spokeswoman for the National Lottery advised people to play early, saying they expect 1150 tickets a minute to be sold between 4pm and 7.45pm this evening.
The largest Lotto jackpot in the history of the game was €18,963,441 and was won by a 16-member syndicate in June last year.
