The North Eastern Health Board has arranged a meeting with all general practitioners in Loath about the higher than normal incidence of certain illnesses in the county. Health board member Mr Fergus O'Dowd said yesterday the citizens of Louth we concerned at the effect they believe the nuclear power plant at Sellafield was having on their health.
He added he was delighted the health hoard, with support from Government, was going carry out research on the incidence of cancer in the area and to report on the risk for the population.
