The timeline of the kidnapping
7.10pm:Armed raiders call to the home of Securicor worker Bernard Hogan at Hillcrest Close, Lucan. They find his wife, Ailish, a retired school secretary, at home alone. The gang holds her captive and waits for her husband to return to the house.
When Mr Hogan returns later in the evening he, like his wife, is bound and gagged by the raiders.
9pm:Ms Hogan is taken from the house in her husband's car by some of the raiders to a disused property just off the Naas Road near the Blackchurch Inn. It is here that she spends the night, while her husband is held hostage in the family home in Lucan.
10.30am:After driving to Carlow town in his own car with some of the raiders, Mr Hogan approaches a Securicor delivery van manned by colleagues known to him as they make a delivery to the Maxol garage at O'Brien Road in Carlow town.
He explains what has happened and tells the crew the money they are carrying must be given to the gang before his wife is freed
10.45am:The money is taken to the disused Lapple factory in Carlow town where it is handed over to the gang. It is then driven away by gang members in Mr Hogan's green Toyota Corolla car
11.30am:Ms Hogan is found by gardaí at the disused property near Rathcoole.
3.30pm:Mr Hogan's car is found abandoned at Frederick Avenue, off the Athy Road, Carlow.
