Verizon Wireless, the largest US mobile phone carrier, today awarded a three-year $5 billion supply contract to telecommunications equipment-maker Lucent Technologies.
The deal will make Lucent the largest supplier to Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of top US local telephone services provider Verizon Communications and Britain's Vodafone Group.
