Racing: Luminous Eyes looks to be going places judged on the manner of her success in the Group Three Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown this evening.
The David Wachman-trained Chintz was backed into 8-11 favouritism but had no answer to the front-running winner as Dermot Weld's charge stayed on strongly for Pat Smullen to score by two and a half lengths.
Successful at Roscommon last time out, the daughter of Bachelor Duke got every yard of this seven furlongs and seems sure to get a mile in time.
Weld said after the 9-2 triumph: "She's a sound horse, she's relaxed and very genuine. She was effective on soft at Roscommon so I was concerned about the drying ground here, but she quickened well from the front.
"She's got the hang of things now and is potentially very good. The Debutante Stakes will be next and if she progresses then she will go for the Moyglare."
Incline (9-10 favourite) will head for back-to-back Galway Festival wins after obliging in the Kilmacud Claiming Race under Johnny Murtagh.
The Ray McGlinchey-trained nine-year-old landed the Tote Galway Mile 12 months ago and that is again the big target.
McGlinchey said: "The horse has been hard to place so we decided to take this opportunity when it arose. This will be his last serious piece of work before Galway."
