England winger Steve McManaman has dismissed reports linking him with a return to the Premiership.
Speculation has been mounting over the future of the former Liverpool star following Real Madrid's interest in signing Zinedine Zidane from Juventus and Gaizka Mendieta from Valencia.
But McManaman told the Mirror: "I'm happy here, and I don't think the new signings will affect me in any way.
"They haven't got anyone for my position and I think I'm part of things here. I certainly want to be, because if we get the players we are after, it will be pretty exciting.
"We are already one of the most feared attacking sides in Europe, and if you add someone of the quality of Zidane, then I think it will make us even more fearsome," he said.
"I was 12 years with Liverpool, so it proves I'm the sort of player who likes to be loyal and I'll be loyal to Madrid, too, by honouring my contract.
"I've had offers, but I've only been here two seasons, and I want to remain much longer," McManaman said.
"I've had a great time, I love the club and the city, and the fans have been wonderful to me. Why should I go?"
