Doubts remain over the future of the Magahy contract for the running of the Campus Stadium Ireland project, which was to have been renegotiated by today.
The new chief executive of Campus Stadium Ireland Development, Mr Seán Benton, yesterday said discussions with Ms Laura Magahy "may or may not be concluded" in the timescale envisaged. Mr Benton said he would report on progress to the CSID board next Thursday.
It will be the first full board meeting since Mr Paddy Teahon resigned as chief executive over the discovery that Waterworld UK, awarded the tender to manage the €62 million campus aquatic centre, was a dormant firm.
Problems with a second contract, a deal with Magahy and Co for executive services for the entire campus project, emerged during the controversy. The contract is worth €127,000 a month and has a potential lifetime value of €12 million, despite the main features of the project, including the stadium, being put on hold.
