A TEMPORARY injunction preventing the Minister for Enterprise and Employment from enforcing an order fixing maximum prices for British magazines is to continue until October 14th, the High Court ruled yesterday.
The interim injunction was granted to Eason and Son Ltd on July 15th. It prevents the Minister from taking steps to enforce the order which was due to come into force on July 16th.
Mr John Gordon SC, for Eason, said yesterday that by consent the case could be adjourned until October 14th and asked that the interim injunction could continue in the meantime. Mr Justice Kelly made the ruling. Mr Charles Meehan, counsel for the Minister, has said the Minister would be contesting the matter. Eason is claiming that the fixing of prices constituted a distortion of trade between Ireland and Britain.
