Ireland coach Eddie O¿Sullivan has made two personnel and one positional change from the team that lost to New Zealand in Auckland ahead of Saturday¿s friendly with Romania at Thomond Park.

Kevin Maggs has made speedy progress since breaking an arm at the end of last season and will partner Leinster's Brian O'Driscoll in the centre.

Both Maggs and Rob Henderson missed the summer tour through injury but their return to fitness has provided management with a welcomed selection headache. Henderson is named among the substitutes.

Munster outhalf Ronan O'Gara retains the number 10 jersey. He and Ulster's David Humphreys signaled their desire for a start on Saturday with stirring performances in their province's Celtic League victories against Welsh opponents at the weekend - games which O'Sullivan traveled to see.

Munster's John Kelly, scorer of two tries on his international debut against Italy in last season's Six Nations, returns to his more accustomed right wing after filling in as a makeshift centre against the All Blacks. He replaces the injured winger Geordan Murphy.

Denis Hickie is recovered from shoulder surgery and, as expected, moves to the opposite flank.

Up front, the pack remains unchanged from the Auckland test. Eric Miller's bruised rib, sustained in an impressive display for Leinster in Friday's Celtic League win over Pontypridd, has delayed his return.

Miller was hoping to secure his place in the back-row after injury forced him out of both All Black tests. He travelled but missed out after suffering a bruised bicep and a damaged nerve against a New Zealand Divisional XV.

Simon Easterby continues at blindside, and Anthony Foley is selected at number eight despite carrying a rib injury.

Saturday's outing is a warm-up for the World Cup qualifying match against Russia in Siberia on September 21st.
