`Magill' appoints new editor

Sunday Tribune journalist Mr Harry McGee is the latest editor of the current affairs magazine, Magill

Sunday Tribune journalist Mr Harry McGee is the latest editor of the current affairs magazine, Magill. He succeeds Ms Emily O'Reilly, who resigned from the position in August, saying she had difficulty with advertisements for "health studios" in Magill's sister publication, In Dublin. Both are part of the Hoson stable of magazines published by Mr Mike Hogan, but Mr Hogan has since decided to withdraw the "health studio" advertisements from In Dublin.

Mr McGee (34) of Salthill in Galway City, was a Connacht Tribune, the Sunday Press and RTE before joining the Sunday Tribune just over a year ago. A graduate of University College Galway and the King's Inns, he has reported from Bosnia, Kosovo and the Middle East.

Mr McGee will take over as editor after the next issue of Magill, which has been under the interim editorship of Mr Damien Corless, who remains managing editor.
