. Consideration to the possibility of allowing for the joint taxation of cohabiting couples, in cases where such a couple have a child mainly resident with them.
The following three recommendations are for the consideration of the social partners negotiating a successor to the Programme for Competitiveness and Work (PCW).
. The inclusion in the social partners' agenda of measures to help workers in reconciling work and family life.
. The promotion of initiatives such as flexitime and job sharing in the sectors of the labour market where these facilities have not been traditionally available.
The review of existing practices such as flexitime, job sharing and part time work to see to how they can be adapted to meet the needs of carers.
