A major drug-dealing investigation is continuing in Limerick following a seizure of cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy tablets at the weekend with a total estimated street value of £500,000.
A semi-automatic sawn-off shotgun and a large quantity of shotgun cartridges were also found during a series of dawn raids on businesses and private residences early on Saturday morning.
Insp Gerry Mahon, of Mary Street Garda station, said a total of eight premises were searched and four kilos of high-grade cocaine was seized. It is believed to be worth over £400,000.
A man in his late 30s was arrested and has been detained for questioning. Under drug-trafficking legislation, he can be held for up to seven days.
