A teenager has been arrested after a man died in hospital following a hit and run.
The 21-year-old was knocked down by a green Nissan Micra in Parnell Road, Dublin, just before 2am yesterday.
The car, with a 96-D registration, was left at the scene but the driver fled, according to gardaí.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to St James’s Hospital, where he died later yesterday.

A 18-year-old was arrested and is being held at Sundrive Road Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí urged other pedestrians who were in the area at the time to come forward.
The road was closed to allow crash scene investigators to carry out a forensic examination.
