A 33-YEAR-OLD man was yesterday sent forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court in October charged with drug dealing offences.

Thomas Joseph Barrett, Corrib Park, Galway, was charged with having a quantity of cocaine in his possession and with having the drug for sale or supply to others at his home on January 20th last.

Barrett was also charged with obstructing and resisting two gardaí while they were arresting him at his home on January 20th last and with having a balaclava, a knife, two walkie-talkies and gloves in his possession which were to be used in connection with a burglary.

Garda Evelyn Barrett gave evidence at the sitting of Galway District Court yesterday of serving a book of evidence on the accused in relation to the two drug charges.

Insp Ernie White said Mr Barrett had been granted bail by the High Court earlier this year but it had since been revoked and the accused was now in custody.

Judge Conal Gibbons sent Mr Barrett forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court on October 6th next in relation to the drugs charges. He remanded him in custody to Harristown District Court on September 4th next in relation to the remaining charges.
