Gardaí in Louth are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in the county in which a 37-year-old man was killed last night.
The collision occurred shortly before 9pm on the M1 near Castlebellingham when the man - a pedestrian - was struck by a car on the north bound carriageway of the M1.
The man died at the scene.
Garda forensic investigators have investigated the scene and the motorway has since re-opened to traffic. Witnesses or anyone with information have been asked to contact Ardee Garda Station.
