A 57-year-old alternative medicine practitioner was last night charged with the murder of an elderly woman at an apartment complex in Dublin.
Martin Ambrose Kinneavy, from Hampton Court, Inchicore appeared at Dublin District court in connection with the death of Mary Hannon (65) on Friday.
Her body was found in an upstairs room in the Hampton Court apartment complex where she lived. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Garda Bernard Thornton told the court that Kinneavy was arrested on Friday at 9.15pm and taken to Kilmainham Garda Station.
His period of detention was extended and he was charged before 5pm yesterday evening with the murder of Mary Hannon.
The court heard that he had nothing to say when he was charged. Judge James Paul McDonnell remanded him in custody and ordered him to appear before Cloverhill District Court on April 29th. Mr Kinneavy, originally from Galway, was granted free legal aid.
