An 80-year-old man appeared in court in Derry yesterday on 18 charges of child sex abuse. The defendant, who cannot be named, is accused of committing 14 charges of indecent assault and four charges of gross indecency between April 1994 and September 1996. The alleged victims, all girls, were aged between 10 and 14. He was remanded in custody until August 13th.
