A Co Roscommon man has been acquitted of raping and sexually assaulting his young cousin.
The man (38) had pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to one count of rape and 10 counts of sexual assault at three locations in Co Roscommon between 1989 and 1993.
Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan had earlier directed the jury to find him not guilty on seven counts of sexual assault.
The jury of eight men and four women found him not guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault after almost four hours of deliberation.
