A Co Galway man in his 20s who sexually assaulted a teenage girl has been remanded in custody to March 24th for sentence. He pleaded guilty in the Central Criminal Court yesterday to the offence on September 3rd, 1995. Ms Maureen Clark SC, prosecuting, asked for a victim impact report on the victim, who is now 17.
Mr Justice Quirke also ordered the preparation of a probation report on the defendant, but refused another defence request to consider letting the man remain on bail pending the sentence hearing.
