A Donegal man (79) has admitted at the Central Criminal Court that he raped and sexually assaulted his daughter over a 12-year period.
The man pleaded guilty to nine counts of rape, four of buggery, three of indecent assault and one of unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter on dates between September 1963 and September 1975.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment, one of assault causing harm and one of possession of a firearm with intent to commit a crime.
The offences were at various places in Co Donegal, and his guilty pleas were for a selection of charges from more than 100 on the indictment.

Mr Justice Paul Carney remanded him on bail for sentencing on April 4th and directed the preparation of a victim impact report.
