A jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last night found a 25 year old man guilty of pointing a gun at gardai more than three years ago. Leonard O'Shea was also convicted of assaulting gardai and resisting arrest.
The jury returned its unanimous guilty verdicts on O'Shea, of Rutland Grove, Dublin 12, after a five day trial. He had denied having a firearm or imitation firearm at Sundrive Road, Crumlin on October 26th, 1992, to intimidate Garda James Cadden and Garda Stephen O'Mahony.
O'Shea had claimed gardai had beaten him and held a gun to his head when about 16 officers raided his home at 6.35 a.m. the following day. He gas remanded in custody for sentence on March 25th.
