A man has been arrested in Ennis, Co Clare after a woman working in a local hotel was stabbed.
In a statement, the Garda press office said gardaí in the town arrested a 32-year-old man following an attack on a female member of staff at the hotel this evening.
The statement said the victim (29), was stabbed during the attack and was removed to Ennis General Hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
The events occurred at about 6pm.

"Gardaí who responded to the call arrested the man in the vicinity of the hotel. He is now detained at Ennis Garda station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act," the statement concluded.
