Police in Belfast have arrested a 30-year-old man this morning in connection with the murder of a 43-year-old loyalist on the Shankill Road.

Bobby Moffett was shot several times in the head just before lunchtime on Friday May 28th.

Two men wearing high visibility jackets were seen to carry out the attack by dozens of horrified witnesses thronging the busy shopping area. The victim, understood to have links with the UVF, was fatally injured at the scene and died in hospital a short time later.

Detectives investigating the case stated within hours of the murder that they did not believe the killing was sectarian.
