A man has been charged in connection with a seizure of guns and ammunition in Antrim yesterday.

A man has been charged in connection with a seizure of guns and ammunition in Antrim yesterday.

The 35-year-old was arrested at a house in the Kilgreel area of the town after  an arson attack on a car.

The PSNI said a man was seen with what appeared to be a handgun and rifle - pouring flammable liquid over a Toyota car parked outside a house in the Craigburn area.

During a follow-up operation in Kilgreel, the man was arrested and a handgun, rifle and a quantity of ammunition seized.

The man was remanded to appear before Antrim Magistrates Court on June 17 on four charges - two of possessing a firearm with intent, possessing ammunition without a certificate and arson.
