A man in his twenties has been charged with stealing the bag of a 60-year-old tourist after she had been knocked down by a bus in Dublin's O'Connell Street two weeks ago.

Jonathan Brophy (23), from Richmond Park, Bray, Co Wicklow, was charged with stealing a handbag, passport, €1,000 and keys belonging to woman on September 15th.

Marie Buckland, from Warwickshire in England, suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a Dublin Bus vehicle as she and a friend were crossing the O'Connell St close to the Spire. She died in hospital just over a week later.

Brophy was remanded in in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court on October 5 th.
