Man charged over fatal Lisburn hit-and-run

A 31-year-old Co Antrim man has been charged with causing the death of another man killed in a hit and run accident in Larne.

A 31-year-old Co Antrim man has been charged with causing the death of another man killed in a hit and run accident in Larne.

The victim was walking along the Antiville Road in the town just before 2.00 a.m. yeasterday when he was struck by a car.

He was named as Ivor Jordan Martin (41) from The Woods, in Larne. A motorist went to police shortly afterwards and was arrested.

The 31-year-old has been charged with four motoring offences including causing death by dangerous driving. He was also charged with refusing to give police a sample of breath or blood for analysis, failing to stop at the scene of a road accident and failing to remain at the scene.

He is due to appear at Larne Magistrates Court on Thursday.
