A man arrested in connection with a so-called "tiger kidnapping" on Friday appeared in Dublin District Court today.
Edward McCarthy (24) of 18 Ruben Street, Dublin 8, was today charged with possession of €61,000, which he knew to be stolen.
He was arrested last Friday on Kimmage Road West shortly after the abduction of a bank employee's partner from her home and a robbery of cash from the nearby Sundrive Road branch of Ulster Bank.
Gardaí believe up to five people are believed to have been involved in the tiger kidnapping, some of which were believed to have been armed.
During the incident a woman was abducted from her home in Ballyfermot and placed in a vehicle at about 6.30am.
Her partner was ordered to obtain a sum of money from the Ulster Bank on Sundrive Road, Kimmage and to await further instructions. The money was then handed over.
The woman was taken to a property in Fairyhouse, Co Meath. She was released at about noon after the money was handed over. She was not physically injured.
Mr McCarthy was remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.
