A child care worker who was charged with sexually abusing four children over seven years was remanded on bail at Galway District Court yesterday.
The 38-year-old man from Galway, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, faces 37 charges, including 15 counts of indecent assault involving three girls and one boy, 21 counts of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the under-age girls, and one count of buggery involving the boy.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on various dates at a children's residential facility and at another location in the city between 1978 and 1985.
Judge John Garavan remanded the man on his own bail of £1,000 to appear before the court on February 10th.
