A man has been charged in connection with an alleged surveillance operation on the Dublin headquarters of a number of specialist Garda units.

Corey Mulhall (41), of Daletree Court, Ballycullen, Dublin 24, was charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army on September 26th, 2012.

Presiding judge Mr Justice Paul Butler, sitting with Judge Flannan Brennan and Judge Cormac Dunne at the Special Criminal Court, remanded the accused in custody to appear before the court again on Thursday, October 4th.

At the special sitting of the non-jury court last night, Det Garda Ronan Judge told State Solicitor Michael O’Donovan he had arrested the accused at Irishtown Road, Dublin.

There was no application for bail or legal aid made on behalf of Mr Mulhall.
