Man charged with Limerick murder

A man has appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged with the murder of Ger McMahon.

A man has appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court charged with the murder of Ger McMahon.

Mr McMahon (43) died from multiple stab wounds sustained in the Prospect area of the city on January 18th.

Paul Colbert (44), with an address at Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, Limerick, was today charged with Mr McMahon’s murder.

Garda Paul Crowley, told the court he arrested and charged Mr Colbert with the killing yesterday and said Mr Colbert “made no reply” when charged.
