A Sligo man who is facing a charge of attempting to murder his wife will have his case heard in the Central Criminal Court in Dublin during the current sitting.

Mr David Howard Kenyon (48), of Carrigans Upper, Ballymote, Co Sligo, appeared at Sligo District Court yesterday charged with unlawfully wounding his wife on October 7th, 1996.

A State solicitor, Mr Thomas Tighe, said Mr Kenyon will face charges of attempted murder and reckless discharge of a firearm. He has been remanded in custody since his arrest.
