A 22 year old man was charged last night with the murder of the Co Kildare shop owner Mrs Joyce Quinn.
Mr Kenneth O'Reilly, of Millview Estate, Milltown, Co Kildare, appeared at a special sitting of Bray District Court, Co Wicklow, shortly after 8 p.m.
He had been charged at Naas Garda Station with the murder of the 44 year old mother of three.
Mrs Quinn's body was found in furze bushes on the edge of the Curragh last Wednesday morning.
Det Sgt John McManus told the court he arrested Mr O'Reilly yesterday and charged him with the murder of Mrs Quinn at Little Curragh, Co Kildare, on January 23rd. When cautioned he replied sorry Mr O'Reilly's solicitor, Mr Anthony Hanahoe, said his client would not be pleading until he had consulted his legal team.
Judge Thomas Ballagh granted an application to have the accused man held in custody until he appeared before Newbridge court tomorrow.
Mr O'Reilly, who is slight in build, with brown hair and a blond moustache, stood calmly through the two minute hearing. His parents sat at the back of the courtroom.
