A man who has allegedly repeatedly climbed to the top of cranes to highlight his demand for a home was remanded in custody by the Dublin District Court today.

Mr John Kelly (47), Iveagh Hostel, Dublin, was charged with trespassing and assaulting a security guard at a building site in New Street, Dublin, yesterday.

The court heard yesterday that Mr Kelly allegedly climbed up on a crane and stayed there for an hour before coming down.

Mr Kelly has been arrested and charged for a similar offence in July and was refused bail in the District Court following objections from gardaí. But he went to the High Court where he was given bail on condition that he stay away from cranes.
