A Galway-based charity marathon runner has completed a long distance charity run from Mizen Head to Malin Head in just under five and a half days.

Richard Donovan completed the final leg of a crippling run from Mizen Head in Cork to Donegal’s Malin Head today, with the goal of raising €50,000 for the Chernobyl Children’s Charity.

The 365 mile run, which is the equivalent to 14 marathons, was completed in 5 days, 13 hours and 23 minutes.

Mr Donovan ran through all four provinces and eleven counties en route: — Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Offaly, Westmeath, Longford, Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry, and Donegal. County Cork accounted for 120 miles of the epic run.
