A man has been remanded on continuing bail for sentence after a Central Criminal Court jury convicted him of attempting to rape and sexually assault a then 16-year-old girl.
Kieran Carey (36), of Inch, Whitegate, Co Cork, a carpenter, was also found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenager on the same occasion on April 2nd, 1999, in a Cork city suburban laneway.
He had denied the charges during his five-day trial and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 1st next by Mr Justice Butler.
