A 40-year-old man has died in hospital after he was assaulted on the quays in Dublin yesterday afternoon.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked on Wellington Quay at the junction of Fownes Street at about 4pm, a Garda statement said.
He was taken to St James’s hospital where he died from his injuries last night.
A 34-year old man was arrested at the scene and is detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street Garda station.
