Gardaí have begun an investigation into the death of a man in Dublin after he was apparently stabbed in a disturbance at a bar.

The man, who was in his 40s, was one of two people taken to hospital after the early morning disturbance in the car park of a pub off Park West Road in Dublin, which involved up to 20 people. It is thought he was stabbed in the body. He was pronounced dead at 10am, and a postmortem will take place later today.

The second man is still being treated in hospital.

Four men were arrested under the Public Order Act and taken to Ballyfermot Garda Station. The men have been released and files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
