A postmortem will be carried out tomorrow.

The victim was from England and had been working in Dublin for a number of months.

It is unclear how or why the dispute arose but it is believed to have begun when one of the motorists became angry at the manner in which the other man was driving his car.

Gardaí believe the man got out of his vehicle and attacked the other motorist before driving off.

A number of people witnessed the attack and, while the suspect in the case drove off, gardaí have since learned his identity and he has been traced.
