Victim was a passenger in a van involved in a collision with a car on the Rathbeale Road

A man in his 40s died early this morning when the van in which he was a passenger collided with a car on the Rathbeale Road in Swords, Co Dublin.

The driver of the van and a second passenger, both aged in their 20s, were taken to Beaumont Hospital where their injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The driver of the car was not injured.

The road is closed pending the arrival of forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
