A man whose parents' house had £8,000 damage done to it by a mob after he head-butted another man has been fined £50 by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Paul Duffy (20), of Willow Wood Close, Clonsilla, pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Neal Moran causing him harm on October 31st, 1998.

Judge Kieran O'Connor was told by defence counsel Ms Aileen Donnelly that Duffy was attacked and seriously injured by "a posse" after the earlier assault.i he was drunk at the time. Judge O'Connor said in view of what happened to the defendant and the £8,000 damage he was dealing with the case leniently.
