Man for court on attempted murder and rape charge

Two men from North Belfast are to appear in court this morning on a number of charges including rape

Two men from North Belfast are to appear in court this morning on a number of charges including rape. One of the men is also charged with attempted murder, while the other is charged with possession of a class A drug.

The RUC say the men, aged 25 and 24 and both from the Greencastle area, will appear at Belfast magistrates court.

It is believed the charges relate to an incident that occurred on Saturday June 16th in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The 24 year-old is charged with attempted murder, rape and indecent assault.
