A 29-year-old Co Galway man who, along with two other men, is charged with the aggravated sexual assault and rape of a mentally impaired girl was sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court in Dublin when he appeared before Galway District Court this week. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with 13 counts of rape, aggravated sexual assault and buggery at two locations in Galway city two years ago.
In a related case, a Co Cork youth, who is also charged with similar offences, was also sent forward for trial. The third man, from Dublin, had been returned for trial at an earlier court sitting.
