A man questioned about the murder of a missing Northern Ireland woman was today released without charge.

He was arrested yesterday by detectives hunting for the body of Lisa Dorrian, of Co Down. The 25-year-old shop assistant, from Bangor, has not been seen since leaving a party at a caravan park in the village of Ballyhalbert, Co Down, more than two weeks ago.

Police are treating her disappearance as murder and revealed the arrest after carrying out a fresh search a few miles up the coast at Ballywalter.

Detectives are due to resume their search today of a yard behind premises in Ballywalter.

At the weekend police returned to the caravan park and talked to caravan owners and local residents. All motorists travelling through the area were stopped and questioned.

Graffiti linking paramilitary group the Loyalist Volunteer Force with the murder has appeared on walls in the area but police have described the speculation as unhelpful to the inquiry.

When Ms Dorrian vanished at the end of February she left her handbag and other personal belongings behind in the caravan where she had been partying.

A week after she disappeared detectives removed a mobile home from the caravan site for forensic examination. A number of people have been arrested and released without charge during the investigation.
