A Donegal man has been given eight life sentences and 24 years total in further consecutive jail terms for rape and sexual assaults of his daughters and nieces.
The man - who cannot be named to protect the victims' identities - pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to 20 sample charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual abuse of two of his daughters and four nieces.
Mr Justice Carney handed down sentence at a late sitting of the Central Criminal Court. The man's name was also added to the sex-offenders' register.
