A man who admitted killing a teenager in a bar on Arranmore Island, Co Donegal, has been acquitted of his murder at the Central Criminal Court. Stephen Boyle (41) had admitted killing but denied murdering Paul Boyle (19) at Early’s Bar, Leabgarrow, Arranmore, on October 3rd, 2009.
Boyle, Cambridge Road, Kilburn Park, London, had pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. The jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter in just over two and a half hours.
Vincent Heneghan, prosecuting, asked for time for preparation of a victim impact report before sentencing on March 12th.
